Position Overview
ELA events constitute a key mechanism for coordination and cooperation among ELA member parties on major political issues and challenges facing the left in Europe. They represent one of ELA’s principal instruments, bringing together Members of the European Parliament, national Members of Parliament, and other relevant stakeholders to develop political and organisational strategic responses to the key challenges confronting left movements and parties in Europe today.
The Events and Communications Officer will play a central role in planning and programming events that align with and deliver on ELA’s mission. Working closely with the ELA Secretary General, the Programme and Communications Lead, and with ELA member parties, the Officer will work on the delivery of both fully owned ELA events and co-organised political events, meetings, and public actions.
The Events and Communications Officer will also be responsible for ensuring high-quality communications across all ELA channels, including social media, the website, newsletters, and email communications. This includes translating ELA’s political priorities and event outputs into clear, accessible, and engaging content, strengthening the visibility of ELA’s activities, and ensuring consistent messaging.
This role is ideal for a proactive, politically engaged professional who enjoys programming and organising events, producing content, and working in a fast-paced leftist European political environment.
The position also requires occasional travel within Europe to support and respond to the needs of ELA events.
