Justice for Palestine – Closing of signatures event

When: Wednesday, 15 July, 13:30

Where: Residence Palace, Rue de la Loi 155, 1040 Bruxelles

This event is organised by the European Left Alliance (ELA) to mark the end of signature collection for the Justice for Palestine European Citizens’ Initiative.  On 15 July at 23:59, signatures for the Justice for Palestine initiative will close. Then, there will be three months during which the EU needs to verify the validity of all signatures. After that, the European Commission will have six months to respond to our initiative.

Launched by ELA on 13 January 2026, Justice for Palestine is the fastest European Citizens’ Initiative to reach one million signatures. The initiative has already gathered over 1.2 million signatures from citizens across Europe. It has also surpassed the required national thresholds in 13 Member States (including Germany, France and Italy) – six more than the minimum of seven required under EU rules.

This initiative calls on the European Union to fully suspend the EU–Israel Association Agreement due to Israel’s genocide, occupation, and apartheid against the Palestinian population, and its ongoing violations of international law and human rights.

The event will include three parts:
• A press conference, from 13:30 to 14:10
• A panel discussion, from 14:15 to 15:30
• A networking coffee, from 15:30 to 16:30

Registrations are subject to confirmation. You will receive a confirmation email once your participation is approved.
