The European Left Alliance (ELA) is holding a public event Tax the rich - How to tackle inequalities and redistribute profits in Milan, Italy on the 5th of June 2026. The event will take place within the framework of ELA’s General Assembly, taking place on the same weekend.

How to tackle inequalities and redistribute profits

Tax the rich, as the name suggests, will focus on the urgent need for taxing the rich and the windfall profits, to redistribute wealth and reduce social inequalities. In Milan, we will hear from the political leaders of ELA member parties, partner parties, and leading academics of the field.

Tax the rich will explore European-wide trends and solutions, as well as different national contexts in Europe, through a comparative lens. The event will consist of opening remarks, a panel discussion, with a political rally to close the evening.
